Other than that nutrient content available at the rice bran of this variety diffused into the grain during the parboiling process, thus the nutritional composition is still rich and higher than other polished non parboiled white rice varieties.

How to Cook

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 cup CIC White Slender Parboiled Rice
  • 2½ cups water
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp oil or butter (optional)

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water.
  2. Bring water to a boil. Add rice, salt, and oil or butter.
  3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes or until tender and water is absorbed.
  4. Let the rice rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 cup CIC White Slender Parboiled Rice
  • 2 tomatoes, blended
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • ½ cup peas
  • 1 tsp paprika or Jollof seasoning
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Cook rice until just tender and set aside.
  2. In a pot, sauté onion and bell pepper in oil.
  3. Add blended tomato and seasoning. Simmer until thick.
